Our story dates all the way to 1955 in Brooklyn, when our parents first opened their doors as respected Brooklyn and New York City caterers, mainly serving weddings and receptions in the area.
As adults, even now, it all makes sense—we can still recall vivid smells and tastes of the freshest home cooking from our childhood home, and when our parents paired that with frequently bringing us by their original Brooklyn catering office, our outlook and philosophy around food and catering today was shaped quite early on: people want really fresh, really flavorful cuisine that tastes, smells, looks and feels like an abundant home-styled experience.
As time grew from the traditions of the 1950s, so did the sophistication of brides and grooms and their guests. Gone were the days of cold deli trays and simple cuisine and in came a desire for more cultured, complex and unique catering.
Today’s Jacques leadership staff actually took over during that fascinating transition. As the demand for new and different catering options spiked—including such trends as hot entrees served fresh at a variety of unique locations—we were anxious and prepared to answer the demand with the concept of “off-premise” catering.
In 1981, to better fulfill our client promises, we moved from our Brooklyn office to New Jersey, and not long after that, we expanded into our current office space in Hazlet to better serve our clients even further.
In 2000, Jacques entered the venue business, adding the fine and elegant Reception Center space to a suite of services for New Jersey brides, grooms and event hosts.
It is our absolute pleasure to share our philosophies, values and time with people who believe in quality, service and overall imaginative experiences like we do. No matter where our story takes us next, we are confident that we will still enjoy sharing those beliefs with others for decades to come.
