Wedding Trends for 2019

You have plenty of options when planning a wedding, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.  From the food and décor to the choice of venue, looking to others for inspiration is a good place to start.  Many couples today are choosing traditional ceremonies in the vein of 2018’s high profile celebrity weddings, while others are opting for more unique arrangements and styles.  As you look for creative ways to personalize your wedding plans, we would love to help.  Here are some of the biggest trends as we head into the 2019 wedding season:

Floral designs

Floral designs are extending beyond conventional flower arrangements and bouquets.  From walls to hanging installations, moon gates, and jewelry, floral decorations are a popular choice.

Coral colors

Living Coral was named 2019 color of the year by the Pantone Color Institute.  This bright orange-pink tone works well in a spring or summer themed wedding.  And it is easy to include in wedding cakes, floral decorations and wedding attire.

Traditional wedding dress

Simple and classic styles are set to remain popular this year.  A notable example is Meghan Markle’s now famous bracelet-sleeved wedding gown.  But even traditional styles allow for plenty of individual expression, with a wide assortment of colors and fabrics available.

Three-piece suits

Traditional is in for grooms too as tailored, fitted three-piece suits see a resurgence in popularity.  While conservative colors like black, navy blue, and grey always work for a formal wedding, a three-piece suit gives you plenty of additional color choices and works well with either a traditional necktie or bow tie.

Bridal headpieces

Many brides are passing over the traditional veil in favor of tiaras, headbands, or hats in various styles.  As a result, you will find a wide assortment veil alternatives today.

Statement wedding cakes

The wedding cake is increasingly a centerpiece of the ceremony, as bakers create cakes with more elaborate designs and textures.  And with so many styles and motifs to select from, the possibilities are virtually endless.

Velvet accessories

Velvet linens and velvet texture accessories, including guest books and wedding invites, can help to establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere.  Similarly, velvet can add a touch of luxury to your wedding attire in the form of shoes, jackets, ties, ribbons, and other accoutrements.

Sustainability

Eco-friendly alternatives to traditional wedding items are gaining popularity.  For example, many couples choose environmentally sustainable options such as biodegradable paper straws or confetti.

Practical party favors

Candles, soap, wine, and coffee are a few examples of wedding favors that guests will want to hold onto and use.

Outdoor venues

From beach weddings to backyard and garden ceremonies, outdoor spaces continue to grow in popularity.  Therefore, it always pays to plan ahead and check availability well in advance.
